I love smoothies. They are the perfect summer breakfast. Also, if you are like me, they are the perfect way to get some extra greens into your diet. Being pregnant in the summer is no joke! It’s important to find any way to keep yourself cool and hydrated. Smoothies are super customizable. Don’t be afraid to include or exclude ingredients as you go. These three smoothies are a great starting point to get you feeling refreshed and healthy this summer!
Peanut Butter, Banana, Kale smoothie
-1 cup kale
-1.5 cups of coconut water
-1 frozen banana
-1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
-2 tablespoons of peanut butter
– 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
-Drizzle of honey
Combine kale, and coconut water and blend until smooth. Add in banana, pineapple, peanut butter, yogurt and honey. Blend until well combined, drink, and be awesome. Makes one serving. *Superfood boost: 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
Spinach Berry smoothie
-1 cup spinach
-1.5 cups coconut water
-1 frozen banana
-1/2 cup frozen strawberries
-1/2 cup frozen blueberries
Combine spinach and coconut water blend until smooth. Add in banana and berries. Blend and enjoy! Makes one serving *Superfood boost: 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed
Tropical Mango smoothie
-1 cup Swiss chard
-1.5 cups of coconut water
-1 frozen banana
-1/2 cup frozen mango (or peaches if you prefer)
-1/2 cup frozen pineapple
Combine Swiss chard and coconut water until smooth. Add banana, mango, and pineapple blend well and pretend you’re on a beach! * Superfood boost: 1 tablespoon of coconut oil

Cherry Limeade Slushy
1 can of cherry lime La Croix sparkling water
1 cup of frozen cherries
Juice from two limes
Hand full of ice
Blend all ingredients. Sip and feel refreshed!
