Hi, my name is Emma! I was raised on the eastern shore of Maryland where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Salisbury University. Throughout college and following graduation, I worked in various childcare and educational settings including supplemental instructor for a collegiate- level anatomy and physiology course, teachers’ aid at local elementary and middle schools, private and school-based mathematics tutor, and off-campus housing assistant manager/leasing consultant. Other experiences supporting children consisted of numerous years as lead staff member and camp counselor for the Queen Anne’s County Family YMCA and babysitter/mother’s helper in the Chesapeake Bay region. I also proudly volunteered time for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation amongst other charitable organizations. Furthermore, I was a member of Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology.
After relocating to Richmond, VA to serve as a scholarship assistant at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, one year of graduate-level social work courses was completed through the University of Denver with a special focus on mental health and trauma. Since returning home to Annapolis, I have attended a DONA-approved postpartum doula workshop, lactation class, and birth equity course. My American Red Cross certification in adult, child, and baby first aid/CPR/AED was also recently renewed.
